How we work

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!  Even the most complicated, daunting process can seem simpler when you break it into manageable tasks.  That's where our step-by-step process comes in..

1.  Intake interview

We start with a free 30 minute consultation in person or by telephone, so we can answer your questions, learn about your situation and establish how we can help.

2.  Financial Consultation

Our Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist ("CFDS") will assist you with the financial aspecst of separation and divorce including division of assets and liabilities (debt), businesses, pensions, investments, spousal support, child support and other financial matters.

Our CFDS will provide you with various scenarios for support and division of assets with projections over 25 years allowing you to see the long term consequences and make informed decisions.

3.  Mediation

Once the numbers are  taken care of, our mediator will help you and your spouse work toward decisions and an agreement, particularly with regard to the division of your property, parenting matters and establishing a parenting plan.  This step may not be necessary if you've already agreed on the details of  your divorce, but if there are any contentious issues, we can help smooth them out.

4.  Paralegal

Based on the agreements you have reached, we will provide you with a comprehensive and thorough separation agreement.  We also prepare documents for uncontested divorces and take care of the process from start to finish.  We also prepare other legal documents and agreements, including prenuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements as well as court documents for family law matters.

You've made the hardest decision - to separate.  Call (403) 462-4996 now, or email us and find out just how easy it can be.
